Vote Stacey Cline on March 3rd!
The Teacher Candidate
For over 25 years, I have been a dedicated advocate for students, parents, and educators. My experience spans roles as a classroom teacher, an ESL Resource Teacher, an active participant in the Volunteer Readers Programme in the TDSB, and a parent of a child who attends a school in Don Valley West. I have seen firsthand both the incredible opportunities our schools can offer and the urgent challenges they face.
Our 24 schools in Don Valley West should be places where every child feels safe, valued, and equipped with the tools to succeed. But too many are falling short. With 84% of our schools in unacceptable disrepair and increasing pressure on educators, change is urgently needed.
This is why I am running to be your TDSB Trustee in Don Valley West. I know we can do better for our students, teachers, and families.
My priorities for stronger schools:
Invest in academic excellence for better student outcomes:
Prioritize literacy, math, and science for each of the 24 Don Valley West schools
Support safe and inclusive learning environments:
All students feel safe and respected
Ensure student well-being:
Support student mental health and eliminate violence
Repair Schools:
Streamline processes to ensure schools are maintained, and address the 84% of schools in repair backlog
Meaningful Consultation:
Parents voices must be heard
Collaboration:
Work with all levels of government to provide the best educational environment for students to thrive
Four major challenges I will address:
Resource Allocation:
Provide teachers with critical resources to meet all students' needs, including teaching tools, high skills coaching, and support staff
Cutting Red Tape:
Reduce unnecessary bureaucracy for greater operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility
Investing Wisely:
Ensuring taxpayer dollars go towards improving education, additional resources, and staffing
Meeting All Students’ Needs:
Investing in Special Education and Specialized Programs, providing all students with all different needs the tools to succeed
Every child should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Together, we can create a brighter future for Don Valley West students!
